About Us

The HighStrung Band provides family friendly entertainment with a mix of genres including western, bluegrass, gospel and old time fiddle music. The five member (Reddington) family band is comprised of Landen, age 16, Hunter, age 14 and Morgan, age 12 along with Jennifer (mom) and Shawn (dad). It’s an all acoustic group with guitars, fiddles, mandolin and upright bass. The Band got started in the spring of 2004 playing for retirement centers and assisted living facilities. In 2006, they were invited to play at a Cowboy Poetry Gathering in Townsend, Montana and since then have been traveling throughout the western United States playing a wide variety of venues including cowboy gatherings, festivals, fairs and private events. The Band released their first CD, "Kick Up Your Heels" in January 2007 and in February 2008 released their second CD, "Down Our Country Road". Landen released a solo CD in February 2007 titled "Flat Pickin". The family makes their home in Cove, Oregon, a rural community of about 400. The children attend the local school and are active in sports, FFA, student government and community service projects.

Title: Kick Up Your Heels

Publication: Cowboy Troubadour Western Entertainment Journal – May/June 2007

Their album “Kick Up Your Heels” is absolutely great!  With songs like “Old Joe Clark”, Whiskey Before Breakfast”, “Faded Love” and “Orange Blossom Special” which showcases this bands fantastic ability. The young fiddle players are just superb and Landen is just awesome for his age on guitar and mandolin.”
